Seeking a Bilingual HR Specialist for a nonprofit organization providing individualized services, vocational training, and community-integration support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and mental health disabilities. Seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented individual to support our diverse workforce and ensure exceptional service delivery across our programs.

Job Summary

The Bilingual HR Specialist supports day-to-day HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, training coordination, and HR administration. This role collaborates closely with program leaders to ensure staffing needs are met and employees feel supported, informed, and engaged. Strong communication skills in English and Spanish are essential to effectively support our multilingual staff and client-serving teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Maintain HR records, process new-hire documentation, and ensure compliance with all state and nonprofit regulatory requirements.
  • Support employees with HR inquiries, benefits questions, leaves of absence, and policy interpretation.
  • Facilitate or coordinate training sessions for direct-support staff, including safety, compliance, and program-specific training needs.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee relations matters, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Support payroll and timekeeping processes in coordination with HR leadership.
  • Ensure HR communication reaches staff in both English and Spanish.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal & written).
  • 1-3 years of HR, administrative, or nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, California employment regulations, or social-service environments is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and contributing to the company's mission.
